Hilzinger Textile Sarl — Manufacturer in Tunisia
Hilzinger Textile Sarl is the Tunisian manufacturing company within the Hilzinger–Thum group. Its Jemmal facility produces cotton and sisal buffs for industrial surface preparation and polishing.
From sewn and loose buffs to wave and pleated designs: cotton, sisal and cotton–sisal combinations for different processing stages. Material, construction and dimensions are specified for the application.

THE HILZINGER GROUP
Since 1902, a history of industrial expertise.
Carl Hilzinger established the business in Tuttlingen in 1902, adding his wife Helene’s maiden name, Thum. Tool and machine production began in 1909. Joachim Hilzinger led international expansion from 1972; technical rubber roller production followed in 1977.
The acquisitions of Clouth in 2000 and WASAG in 2006 broadened the group’s expertise in rollers and technical brushes. Tuttlingen remains the group’s research and development centre.

A MILESTONE IN TUNISIA
2023: the acquisition of MDA
In 2023, Hilzinger–Thum and Europolish acquire MDA, which has been manufacturing cotton and sisal buffs in Tunisia since 2004.
The Jemmal site retains its manufacturing expertise. In July 2026, MDA’s operations become part of Hilzinger Textile, with Hilzinger MENA (Middle East North Africa) as its commercial division for the Middle East and North Africa.

A story
that keeps evolving.
The activity began in 2004 with MDA, founded by Elena Antal and led by Leonardo Melillo until 2020. Elena Antal took over its management in 2020.
In July 2026, MDA’s operations become part of Hilzinger Textile, continuing production in Tunisia and the expertise in cotton and sisal processing. Hilzinger MENA (Middle East North Africa) is its commercial division for the Middle East and North Africa.
